This tutorial was created on October 6, 2009 and is the property of It's Me Again Tuts by Bonnie. This tutorial was written using Psp vs. 8, but I see no reason why it cannot be created using other versions of Psp. FOR THIS TUTORIAL YOU WILL NEED: Paint Shop Pro (trial version) Red Prince Whitewash Alpha here Mini frames here (first frame on page) and here (3rd download on page) Tube and brushes of choice Twinkle Toes font here ~Okay, let's get started on our tag~
1. Open your supplies in Psp and minimize them to your Psp workspace for now. Set your foreground/stroke color to #000000 and the background/fill color to #8D2409. File/New. Create a new image 700w x 700h white background. Restore the tube that you will be using on your tag and go to Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste/Paste As New Layer. This tube will need to be large so do not resize it if you don't have to. Move the tube towards the left side of the tag image. Effects/Plugin Filters/Red Prince/Whitewash Alpha Channel. Apply this filter two (2) times. Lower the opacity of the tube layer to 20. Below is what your tag image should look like at this point.
2. Restore the ws_frame_2 and go to Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste/Paste As New Layer. Position the frame as shown in the screen shot below.
3. Apply a drop shadow effect to the frame. Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow using the settings shown below. Vertical 0; Horizontal 0; Opacity 75; Blur 6; Color Black 4. Restore the ws_frame1 and go to Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste/Paste As New Layer. Center this frame over the frame 2. Activate the Magic Wand tool and click in the center of the circle on the frame1. Selections/Modify/Expand by 3 pixels. Restore the tube that you are using for the circle frame and go to Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste/Paste As A New Layer. Position the tube layer over the selected frame; resize the tube if needed. Selections/Invert. Hit the delete key on your keyboard. Selections/Select None. Drag the tube layer under the frame layer. 5. Highlight the ws_frame1 layer and apply a drop shadow effect using the same settings as used in Step 3. Activate the white background layer of the tag. Layers/New Raster Layer. Add some brush effect to your tag using the background/fill color. Activate the ws_frame1 layer (arrow frame layer). Using the Magic Wand tool (add/shift; tolerance 0; feather 0), click on all of the white squares on the frame. Flood fill the selected white squares with the background/fill color. Selections/Select None. 6. Restore the ws_frame4_extra2 tube and go to Edit/Copy; back to the tag image and Edit/Paste/Paste As New Layer. Image/Rotate. Rotate the diamonds by 90 degrees to the right. Image/Resize. Resize the diamonds by 75%. Resize all layers is not checked; bicubic resize type is used.
7. Activate the Selection Tool. Draw a selection around the first two diamonds on the row and hit the delete key on your keyboard. Selections/Select None. Adjust Sharpness/Sharpen. Position the row of diamonds on the left end of the arrow frame as shown in screen shot below. Apply a drop shadow effect to the diamonds using the same settings as used in Step 3. Layers/Duplicate. Position the duplicated row of diamonds below the squares design (see screen shot below).
8. Duplicate the bottom row of diamonds (Layers/Duplicate). Image/Rotate. Rotate the diamonds by 90 degrees to the right. Adjust/Sharpness/Sharpen. Position the row of diamonds on the right side of the arrow as shown in screen shot below. Image/Resize. Resize the diamonds by 90%. Resize all layers is not checked; bicubic resize type is used. Draw a selection around any over-hanging diamonds and then hit the delete key on your keyboard. Selections/Select None. Layers/Duplicate. Position the duplicated diamonds under the square design of the arrow.
9. Layers/Merge/Merge All (flatten). Image/Add Borders. Add a 50 pixel border to your tag using the color white (#FFFFFF). Activate the Pen Tool using the small dash line style; width 2; create as vector. Null out (x out) the background/fill color. Draw lines around your tag as shown in the screen shot below.
10. Layers/Convert to Raster Layer. Apply a drop shadow effect to the lines using the settings shown below. Vertical 1; Horizontal 0; Opacity 75; Blur 2; Color Black 11. Add your name to your tag using the Twinkle Toes font or font of choice. Layers/Merge/Merge All (flatten). Resize your tag if needed and save in desired format.
